NDW Easter Sunday morning run - Bluebells in the woods near Kemsing, a photo by ultraBobban on Flickr.
The hardest 50km on the calendar approaches. Gatliff, which is a looop of the North Downs and The Weald....course record 5hrs 34.....yes the record is that! I think it might be beaten this weekend as there are a few non-W100 running it that I know.
Positives:
It is tough
It will rain
It will be very muddy underfoot
Negatives
It is tough
It will rain
It will be muddy underfoot
We might get lost
Especially if there are wrongly identified trees
Have a great time Rob, part of me wants to be there but I get a nice 80km night run with free food. Say hello to Merv for me as I know he will be along for the run :-)
ReplyDeleteI think that Claire Shelley, Merv and a few more will be there. My mate Irish Sue, who you met on your first ultra, is running her second ultra!
ReplyDeleteWhat time are planning on starting on Sunday? If you are up for some company we can get lost together.
ReplyDeleteFlynn!!! I'm getting there at about 7/7.30. I'm totally unfit at the mo chap. Up for a cider afters?
DeleteI'll be getting there at about that time. Let's see what time we finish shall we. I need to get home at a reasonable time.
DeleteI have done zero long run training so I'm not expecting much. This is pretty is a training run for me but I fully intend to hammer pretty hard where I can.
Cider sounds lovely.
Gutted I cannot come back to this splendid event this year due to being at Center Parcs. Enjoy the mud boys or should I say mud pools :)
ReplyDeleteWith the barrage of weather this weekend, I cast my mind back to when Jezza said to me......."at this point we were up to our waists so I lifted my garmin in the air as it was the most expensive thing on me"
ReplyDeleteI wo'nt be wearing my Goretex shoes.....they will store water
